It turns out I actually enjoy talking about my work.
Maybe that's not a shock. Maybe most people are eager to chat about the things they care about with whomever will listen. But I never thought I would.
I've written before about my historic hesitancy to "bother people" with the things I care about. In truth, nobody is more invested in my book than I am. That paradoxically makes me the best equipped to talk about it, and simultaneously, it makes me paranoid that I'm the only person who wants to talk about it.
But in the six weeks or so since my book came out, I've had a handful of really cool conversations about my work. It was not painful. And so, I'm eager to keep it up.
You can read more about the 30 Book Club Event on its page. It's a tall order, but I'm hopeful I'll be able to pull it off. If you know of a book club that might be interested in chatting with me, please let me know.
